Summary/Abstract: One of the most significant and influential figures in 20th-century music, marking the centenary of György Ligeti’s birth (1923– 2006), provided an occasion to reevaluate the importance of his contributions in the context of the development of European mu sic in the 20th century. This same occasion also offered an opportunity to consider his influence on compositional practices in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly on one of prominent Bosnian-Herzegovinian composers, Vojin Komadina (1933–1997). An analytical study of various examples demonstrates that Ligeti’s compositional techniques, especially his use of micropolyphony, are reflected in the significant works of Vojin Komadina. Furthermore, intriguing parallels and intersections between their lives and creative paths shed light on the nature of Ligeti’s influence on Komadina and provide a deeper understanding of the essential aspects of Komadina’s artistic expression. The aim of the paper is to determine, through the analysis of a number of examples, that Ligeti’s compositional manners, especially micropolyphony, are also reflected in important works by Vojin Komadina.
