Impact of Introduction of EURO with Regard to Financial Crisis And Perspectives of Its Introduction in the Czech Republic

Summary/Abstract: As a consequence of the world economic crisis, many small open economies have experienced serious economic problems. In response to this fact, they have begun to consider the introduction of the common currency to be protected against turbulances on financial markets. The study briefly evaluates the positive and negative implications of the euro introduction generally, then it focuses on the function of euro as a shield against consequences of financial crises. On the basis of this analysis and empirical data from individual countries hit by the crisis, it strives to make a recommendation for the Czech Republic, stress the main problems and map the perpectives of the euro introduction in the Czech Republic.
