Summary/Abstract: The decision and reasoning of the High Court of Cassation and Justice (The Romanian Supreme Court) in the case of the trial regarding the security officers who decided the fate of the engineer Gheorghe Ursu, who died in the custody of the Capital Militia in 1985, caused an impressive number of reactions. Our article aims to carry out a narrative analysis of these public positions, main ideas and interpretations provided by historians, cultural figures, public intellectuals, and publicists. It turned out that the critical point is not so much the sentence itself (revolting for everyone anyway), but the court's reasoning (shocking by its falsity). A generic conclusion is that in the last trial of communism, the Security came out innocent, therefore victorious.
