Summary/Abstract: The topic we propose refers to the impact that Chernobyl accident had on the Romanian society and how it affected people`s daily life. This study is based on the analysis of the files from Department of State Security (Securitate) in order to identify the communist authorities`s reaction. Secondly, this study aims at understanding how public opinion found about the accident and how it reacted.
