Summary/Abstract: The strategic plan for municipality has still a bigger and bigger meaning. It enables transparent planning and economy with financial resources as well as the communication between citizens and local authorities. Last but not least, it is needed for obtaining subsidies and for pumping resources from the European Union. Such a plan has financially more demanding priorities but it also includes smaller projects which could improve the quality of contemporary life. The paper describes the creation of a strategic plan for one small municipality (Chroboly), which is situated in the Prachatice District in the South Bohemia.
