Summary/Abstract: The Brussels regime and significant change in 2022 via Regulation 2019/1111 of 25 June 2019 on jurisdiction, the recognition and enforcement of decisions in mat¬rimonial matters and the matters of parental responsibility, and on international child abduction (recast) of 29.06.2019 became fully applicable. The main objectives of the new Brussels regulation include improving the decision-making process, providing clear rules for determining the competent courts of a Member State of the EU, preventing inter¬national child abductions. It lays down rules for cases where one parent plans to move with the child to another Member State. The regulation strengthened the protection of children‘s rights. It introduces measures to improve the protection of children from risks related to material scope and equality. It seeks to improve cooperation between Member States. The regulation promotes better cooperation between courts and other Member States‘ authorities in the interests of children and their safety. The recast abolishes exe¬quatura proceedings and seeks to unify the rules on enforcement.
