Summary/Abstract: Faust is an actual historical figure, a scientist who gained fame for his “miracles”, an inspirer of generations of artists in different genres. Gounod’s masterpiece, “Faust”, was the first “complete” operatic work presented in Bulgaria in 1892. In 2022, the Opera and Ballet Festival in Stara Zagora opens with the premiere of Faust. The lavish new production is a contrast to the first, when two chairs marked the road gate and a pile of books on the floor marked the flower beds in Marguerite’s garden.
