Summary/Abstract: The necessity of subsidy policy of the agrarian sector is already set as its historical development, since its origins date back to the second half of the 20th century, and the need to compensate for differences in business conditions in this sector, which is irreplaceable in food production and in recent years has also had a broader social context. This paper focuses on the analysis of the development of subsidies for Czech agricultural enterprises in the years 2004–2011 (the database with 920 observations). After the basic description of subsidies their connection to the profitability of farms is presented, which is defined with summarizing indicators: profit or loss and overall profitability.
