Summary/Abstract: Adoption is certainly among the most accepted forms of protection for children without parental care. Adoption is a high-quality form of protection for children without parental care. Adoption establishes especially important relationships for the child, which have an inestimable value in the child's growth. They represent one of his best interests. Adoption must be in the child's favor, that is, it must respect the internationally accepted principle of protecting the best interests of the child. Children without parental care are one of the most vulnerable categories in our society, and it is necessary to develop forms of protection in the interest of every child. Placing a child in another family is the goal of both social services and social pedagogues, as it is considered the best form of care that creates a positive family environment for each child. The task of a social pedagogue is to familiarize children with the laws and everything that they claim their rights to, as well as help adoptive parents and their obstacles. The term "adoption" will be explored and clarified through the elaboration of the paper, as well as the legal framework of adoption. The assumptions for the adoption will be explained, as well as the procedure itself and the types of adoption. In addition, we will show how a child experiences adoption, the importance of preparing the child and all other participants for adoption, and the role of the social pedagogue in that preparation process. Research on this topic has a dose of professional and scientific contribution that can help future social pedagogues in working with children without parental care.
