Summary/Abstract: The concept of „smart power“ as a specific way of conducting foreign policy and implementation of international relations is a fundamental characteristic of international politics of the 21st century. The theory of "smartpower" is a broad theory that can be evaluated from several perspectives. This paper will focus on foreign policy activities of a medium-sized regional power such as the Kingdom of Norway, especially with the aim to present the existence of an entirely new level and dimension of „smart power“ as it was presented in the original concept of „smartpower“. This new dimension of the originál theory of „smart power“ draws attention to the extremely clever of smartuse of all available soft options that the country has naturally at a disposal although at the first sight these options do not seem to be particularly useful or unique.
