Summary/Abstract: "Language and music are both characterized by a certain structure and hierarchy, have rhythm and are based on rules. They both depend on neural processing in the auditory cortex. Hoverer, music is being underutilized in foreign language classes, and its educational value is often underestimated. The results of neurolinguistic and neurocognitive research indicate why music should be included in the methodological repertoire of foreign language teachers. The proper use of music can be helpful in foreign language classroom and contribute to the development of language curricula. Teachers’ understanding of the neurobiological mechanisms and neurolinguistic and neurocognitive benefits of music in language teachingcan measurably contribute to the development of educational and intervention strategies."
