Summary/Abstract: The article presents the participation of the Częstochowa clergy in the so-called “Patriotic Priests” movement. It gives the number of priests belonging to the District Priests’ Commission in Katowice and the District Priests’ Commission in Łódź. It also brings closer the motives for their involvement, the functions they performed in central and regional structures, as well as characterises the forms of political and social activity. It raises the question of the attitude of the bishops of Częstochowa – Teodor Kubina and his successor bishop Zdzisław Goliński – and the other confreres to the “patriot priests”.
