Summary/Abstract: For the fledgling Romanian Flotilla the Russo-Turkish War was a true baptism of fire. One of the most daring raids of the war was a spar torpedo attack against the Ottoman armored gunboat, the Seify. This attack was the first one with a torpedo on the European continent, proving the value of the new weapon.
