Summary/Abstract: The present study consists of a field report of a previous research carried out in Slatina-Bor, Timoc (Serbia) in August 1998. The author recorded (on August 25, 1998) two storytellers from that village, Brana Cârcioabă (b. 1956) and Liubiţa Șutulovici (b. 1958). Their stories are transcribed here. The transcript comprises a succession of six narratives of different genres and dimensions, linked together by a central topic, the fate of the humans, their fortune or, in regional terms, sreče. There are two fairy tales and four short stories from the series “when God and St. Peter walked the Earth”. The study analyzes these stories in relation to earlier collections of texts from the region, trying to discover their specificity.
