Supply of insurance services and the business continuity of small and medium- sized enterprises

Summary/Abstract: It has been nearly a hundred years since Henri Fayol formulated his own proposals con- cerning the description of economic activities (business) by distinguishing protection and management-related functions. During this period of time, significant transformations have taken place in both the enterprises, which are clients to insurance services, and insurance companies, which are creating the supply of such services.In spite of these transformations, the application of insurance services in the manage- ment of organizations has relatively rarely been covered by management science research works. However, if the question were to be answered in which management science area the problem of organization insurance should be placed, it seems that organization devel- opment management and business continuity management are the most appropriate fields.
