Summary/Abstract: The article presents the role and importance of the insurance companies on Polish cap- ital market. The size and structure of investments made by the both insurance sector (Life and Non-Life Insurance Companies) were introduced. Also the double role of the insurance companies on the Warsaw Stock Exchange was emphasized. At the same time the legal aspects of the insurance companies' investments process was presented.
