Summary/Abstract: The Second International Scientific Conference "Insurance against the Challenges of the 21st Century" took place on November 24-25, 2008 at the Palace Complex in Czerniejewo and, in addition to celebrating the anniversary, was an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences from ongoing research on the development of the market and insurance theory in Poland, to identify contemporary research directions and to consolidate the scientific community and practitioners dealing with insurance.
