Summary/Abstract: Nowadays warfare is characterized by a huge intensity of fight, large investment in military technology that led to new ways of combat and increased its visibility. The changing strategic, social and cultural of this environment has forced governments and armies to add new fight strategies including public diplomacy. By the other hand the public diplomacy itself have changed in this changing environment. Therefore this article reviews current research in this field. First, a theoretical description of public diplomacy has been provided and then the way public diplomacy is applied in contemporary conflicts focusing on Russian and Ukrainian public diplomacy activities during the present war. Therefore we discuss on the battle between Ukrainian and Russian military for image and legitimacy in international public opinion. In the information age we live in, public diplomacy activities and capabilities can have a high impact on the way people, organizations and Governments perceive this war. The purpose of this paper is to examine the management of public diplomacy by both actors that have involved in the war.
