Reinsurance of export insurance policies guaranteed by the Treasury

Summary/Abstract: Currently, reinsurance contracts are concluded by Korporacja Ubezpieczeń Kredytów ...ksportowych SA only with other credit insurance agencies whose operation is supported by the state. The article is a legal analysis of admissibility of reinsuring export insurance contracts on the private insurance market. Its conclusion is that there are no legal obstacles for such reinsurance. Then, the author goes on to present the differences resulting from reinsurance on the private market in comparison with cur- rently used reinsurance, and the benefits it offers. At the same time, due to the role of the Treasury in the export insurance system, the author additionally attributes the position of a quasi-reinsurer to this entity in this system.
