COLINDUL ÎN CREAȚIA COMPOZITORULUI ION VIDU
THE CAROL IN THE CREATION OF THE COMPOSER ION VIDU

Summary/Abstract: A lesser-known chapter of religious creation belonging to the composer Ion Vidu is that of the carols that he collected from romanian villages and harmonized throughout his life. Although the catalog of Vidu's religious creation, drawn up in the 60’s of the last century by the Romanian musicologist Viorel Cosma, records a larger number of works belonging to this genre, however, in present time, in the research carried out by us in the Banat musical archives, we could only identify four carols whose scores are still to be found. As a result of this state of affairs, in the following, we briefly describe each of the four carols we have found and at the end of this article we publish them in their entirety, in order to return them to the Romanian music interpretive circuit
