Summary/Abstract: The oldest known excerpts register of municipal documents of Cracow, destroyed during World War II, was written down around 1545 by Walerian Pernus, a prominent supervisor of the Cracow municipal chancery. The author of this article organises and supplements the findings relating to the genesis and history of the use of the so-called Pernus Codex, scattered in the former literature on the subject.
