Summary/Abstract: This is an article in memory of Professor Hanna Popowska-Taborska, an outstanding Kashubian studies scholar, Slavicist and etymologist. Her scholarly interests mainly focused on the Kashubian language: description of its dialects and linguistic monuments, its dialects in the light of nineteenth-century archival materials, its lexicography, status and contemporary changes, and its development as a literary language. Her important achievements also include studies on Slavic lexis and etymology. She was the first researcher to draw attention to the importance of the legacy of Bartholomeus de Bydgostia (Bartłomiej z Bydgoszczy). A renowned scholar, Professor Popowska-Taborska was a member of numerous commissions, committees, and academic and editorial boards.
