Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the Silesian translation of Winnie-the-Pooh by A.A. Milne. The Silesian dialectis gaining more and more popularity, also in its written form, and more and more texts from the clas-sics of children’s literature are being translated into Silesian. The analysis contains some reflectionsabout the creativity of the translator – Grzegorz Kulik – concerning neologisms, proper names, metaphors and language games that make the original novel so difficult to render with great fidelity.Deeper research would be required to find out what the reception of this type of literature is, whoreaches for it and for what purpose.
