Summary/Abstract: In the following article, we will introduce readers to the approach of Positive Behavior Support (PBS) in the context of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). We will present the content of the course “Strategies for Managing Problematic Behavior in Children – An Introduction to Positive Behavior Support” and how information is conveyed to participants. We will provide examples of specific activities and assessment tools used by participants during the course. The main objective of this article is to evaluate the effectiveness of the course at the second level of the Kirkpatrick Model, which involves assessing participants’ knowledge and skills before and after completing the course. For this purpose, we utilized a self-constructed test that monitored changes in participants’ ability to define challenging behaviour (observed in 45 % of participants), identify primary and secondary functions of behavior (observed in nearly two-thirds of participants), and measure the intensity and severity of challenging behavior (change observed in nearly 60 % of respondents). Furthermore,we examined participants’ ability to assess behavioral functions using the ABC data collection formand the MAS questionnaire. In the conclusion of the text, we discuss the need for further continuingeducation for both educational and non-educational professionals in the field of PBS. We also outline potential directions for future research in this area.
