Summary/Abstract: The existence of traditional medicine, known as ethnomedicine, deals with the treatment of various pathologies using empirical methods perfected over time before modern medicine emerged. The effectiveness of these treatments was attributed to the supernatural, magic, and divine influence, and they are still used and known as "folk remedies". Therefore, even in today's society, which heavily relies on science, certain traditions and customs from the past intended to preserve or enhance our health, well-being, or integrity are still used. The reasons for this can be multiple, ranging from mere habit to religion or belief in the paranormal. One thing is certain: most Romanians have used folk remedies at least once in their lives.
