Summary/Abstract: Defining and further advancing the personality traits of athletes is necessary for the development of their identity (self-image). Nurtured athletic qualities can positively contribute to influencing anxiety, anger, and curiosity, and thus the attitudes of athletes in competitions. In the study sample, we included individual athletes and competitors in team sports who obtained a first-class rating (N = 243). The test method is the State-Trait Personality Inventory (STPI), which measures the condition recorded on an intensity scale and the propensity responses measured on a frequency scale, using the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient to measure the internal consistency of the scales. In the study, we sought to answer how and what traits in the Personality Inventory Scale (STPI) surface in the present population and how much they may affect the personality traits of top athletes.
