SOME OBSERVATIONS ON THE RECEPTION AN TRANSCRIPTION OF SOME PROPER NAMES AND GEOGRAPHICAL NAMES AND SPECIAL TERMS IN THE CHRONOGRAPHICAL ALEXANDRIA OF THE VILNIUS CHRONOGRAPH

Summary/Abstract: The paper explores the writing of proper names and geographical names in one part of the text of the Vilnius Chronograph, i.e., the Chronographical Alexandria, which is an Old Church Slavonic translation of the Greek Alexander Romance. The scribes often made mistakes and changes in these names. In some cases the editing and spelling reveal the range of interests of the bookmen.
