Summary/Abstract: This article is based on the correspondence between Oscar Walter Cisek and the editorial staff of the cultural journal “Ostland”, the organ of the Germans՚ League in Greater Romania՚s Cultural Office. It discusses how the young author and journalist expanded his personal and professional network. The article concludes that Cisek utilized pre-existing relationships with friends and colleagues from other periodicals, as well as with authors he had previously translated. Cisek was not hesitant to promote himself when writing to the editorial staff or unfamiliar individuals.
