Summary/Abstract: One of the collections preserved at Istanbul University Rare Works Library is “Yıldız Sultan II. Abdülhamid Han photography collection” marked out as the largest visual archive of the 19th century. The content of this photography collection does not only encompass the Ottoman Empire, but also countries of the far-away world. It contains photographs of Meclis-i Âyana (The Senate) members, and of Meclis-i Mebûsana (The Parliament) members. After publishing regulations on the election, on October 29th of 1876, Ottoman local authorities prepared the elections in Bosnia-Herzegovina promulgating and commenting on regulations. Herzegovina formed an independent province at the end of 1875, and therefore had to send its representatives to the parliament in Istanbul. Also, it should be noted that at that time Bosnia also included the sanjak of Novi Pazar.
