Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the legislation and judicial practice regarding the procedural rights in criminal proceedings of the defendants with intellectual disabilities, which do not constitute an obstacle to realizing criminal liability. The article outlines the gaps in the legal system in the Republic of Bulgaria, related to the procedural rights in the criminal proceedings of the defendants with intellectual disabilities.
