Recommendations issued by the Polish Financial Supervision authority for the insurance and reinsurance undertakings

Summary/Abstract: The paper reviews the legal nature of a relatively new supervisory instrument over the insurance and reinsurance market, it is the power of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority to issue recommen- dations for insurance and reinsurance companies. The paper is focused on explanation of the of these recommendations within the legal system. The paper examines how the issuing of the recommenda- tions may affect the proper and secure operation of the domestic insurance and reinsurance companies.
