Summary/Abstract: The Methodology for assessing the suitability of members of the governing bodies of supervised enti- ties published by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority raises far-reaching doubts both in the area of its compliance with national law and its compliance with European Union law. This document, which was supposed to summarize the regulatory solutions functioning in the Polish legal system concern- ing the criteria of assessing the suitability of the members of corporate bodies of financial institutions, in practice seems to go significantly beyond the scope of the binding acts of the EU law concerning these issues (especially in the context of the insurance sector).
