SOCIAL MIMICRY OR THE PAINS OF THAWING IN BLAGA DIMITROVA'S NOVEL „FACE“

Summary/Abstract: The paper contains some observations on the novel "Face" by Blaga Dimitrova - one of the books that do not fit into the canon of socialist realism and are banned by the official authorities. Based on literary critical evaluations and memories of contemporaries, an attempt was made to present fragments of the novel's creative history, and to outline the moral grounds that determine the author's civil position. Analytical observations on the novel’ text are aimed at the issues of ideology and literature. Some philosophical psychological aspects of the problems of man and power, existential choice, and identity, which are of key importance in the literary text, are presented.
