Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to discuss the origins and legal status of green bonds, as well asindication of barriers and prospects for the development of this type of securities in Poland. Analysiswas carried out based on Polish and EU legal regulations and EU legislative plansin terms of the European green bond standard, as well as taking into account the applicable onespolicies regarding the ongoing energy transformation.
