Summary/Abstract: The use of online platforms is becoming increasingly necessary in the teaching process. Most of the time, digital media relate to the idea of entertainment and less to learning, teaching or assessment. The aim of this article is to show how digital platforms can be integrated into the teaching of Romanian as a foreign language and highlighting the advantages they can offer, increasing the quality of the teaching-learning process. Some of these advantages are the unlimited access to information and the development of a better relationship between students and teachers. Also, by using websites or apps, more interactive teaching approaches can be created leading to better performance. One of the most important features of digital platforms is that they can be used not only during classes, but also for individual study and as a tool for creating tests. Using an app instead of a classic exercise worksheet can lead to better performance for students, as they treat it as a game, which helps them focus more on solving the requirements, minimizing the pressure of a grade or test. However, digital platforms cannot replace traditional methods, as their main purpose is to diversify the learning process.
