Summary/Abstract: At the forefront of this article is the study and identification of achievements and good practices in the field of financial literacy education in schools in the Europe-an Union from the standpoint of opportunities to improve existing resources in Bulgaria, curricula, practices and ways to implement new more effective educational models in Bulgarian schools. The most important features of the present study can be systematized in the following areas: • Realization of research and analysis of a particularly topical and significant problem for Bulgaria and the region, because the acquisition of knowledge and skills related to financial literacy will become increasingly necessary and important for the future. • The collected data outline guidelines for sustainable change and scale of interventions in the school system in Bulgaria and suggest the need to strengthen national policies for financial literacy, including by developing digital tools to achieve individual financial sustainability. The main results of the study reveal the prospects and prove the need for more, diverse and innovative interventions and resources in the field of financial literacy education in schools in selecting the most appropriate and accessible tools and mechanisms. The results of the research are a guide for financial literacy programmes taught in educational institutions, which should contribute to the future practical and life realization of young people.
