Summary/Abstract: «Practicality» of management science is relative. This means that it does not provide guidelines, rules, principles and laws of general application. It results from, first, the variability of human behavior and, secondly, the unpredictability of the environment. Principal value is also weakened by the fact that this science does not perform a forecasting function, and therefore does not provide guidance for the future. Additionally there is a discretionary interpretation of the terms. Another problem is the abstract language of scientific publications, which is incomprehensible for managers. The industry of management consulting only partially meets the needs of practice. It is helpless when it comes to solving ill-structured problems.
