Summary/Abstract: The text presents the Polish and Polish-Bulgarian perspective in the works of Wanda Smohovska Petrova on the Bulgarian Revival in the context of her Polish-Bulgarian life and scientific biography. The Polish-Bulgarian perspective can be read both on a thematic and conceptual level. Three natural points of view are relevant to its construction. The first of them is the external point of view of the bearer of another type of Slavic culture with a different genesis, experience and research traditions, with another type of connections with the European cultural space. The second point of view - this is the view from the inside, from the position of "adoption". The third – of the constant dialogue and comparison through the homo duplex motif, characteristic of the migrant writing of twodomed authors, connecting the native with the adoptive culture.
