Summary/Abstract: As a reflection of the Turquerie fashion that spread in Europe in the 18th century, items reminiscent of Turks in art and daily life and Turkish clothing became popular among Europeans. Masquerades are also one of the areas where the Turquerie fashion spreads in this context. This study discusses the interest in wearing Turkish costumes in masquerades in the same century from the perspective of Turquerie, which became a fashion in everyday life and art in the 18th century. In this period, masquerades in England became entertainments open to all segments of the public, which could only be attended by purchasing tickets, and this issue was frequently mentioned in the press of the period. In the study, the interest in Turkish clothing in masquerades was analyzed with the data obtained from the visual and literary sources of the period, and a clothing album used as a costume catalog for masquerade entertainments was examined. The similarities between the social status of the Turkish figures in this album and the status of those who consume this fashion were determined and evaluated through the concept of Turquerie.
