Summary/Abstract: The article presents research that focuses on the sense of locus of control and social support that influence the life decisions of alumni in family foster care. These decisions are linked to the lack of autonomy or independence of the alumni in their daily choices. The problem for the modern social welfare system today is becoming one of independence, which requires multidimensional support for young people entering independent life. This shows how complex a phenomenon empowerment is to study. The degree of difficulty is due to the need to take into account a number of factors that, as a result of analysis, can be crucial to the conclusions reached.
