Summary/Abstract: The article outlines the advantages of incorporating diachronic linguistics into foreign language instruction. It defines key terms and references recent research by James M. Stratton. Two approaches to integrating diachrony into education are discussed. The author delves into a proposed unique first-degree full-time study program (using a program tailored to the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich) that would enable students to master two to three closely related foreign languages at the B2+ level. An alternative version of the program and suggested admission requirements are also presented. Finally, a course project is introduced, which could serve as a cornerstone for the aforementioned fields of study and would be easier to implement due to administrative and staffing reasons.
