Summary/Abstract: Tomas Kiauka was born in Šilutė in 1968, and he grew up in Vilnius. He graduated from the J. Vienožinskis Art School. Later he studied painting through private lessons. He studied theology and philosophy in Germany, and defended his doctorate at the University of Heidelberg. He has been teaching Philosophy and Art Theory at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and has published articles and essays on theology, philosophy and art. Tomas Kiauka is a member of the Lithuanian PEN Centre. Jointly with the pianist and painter Viktoras Paukštelis, he has organised an exhibition of paintings in Klaipėda (2011), Vilnius (2012), Kėdainiai (2014), a solo exhibition at Baroti Gallery (2018) in Klaipėda, and at the M. Valančius Public Library in Kretinga (2019). Tomas Kiauka has been regularly participating in the creative workshops at Paliesius Manor. Since 2018, Tomas Kiauka has been a member of Klaipėda County Artists' Union.
