Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the imagery of plants in selected passages of Pindar’s victory odes and cult songs. It demonstrates how the Theban poet uses the symbolism of flower motifs and of the olive and laurel tree in an athletic and ritual context, conferring on them the relevant meanings.
