Summary/Abstract: Colonel Emanuel Halicz (1921–2015) was a historian of the 19th century. Since 1952 he worked at the Feliks Dzerzhinsky Military Political Academy in Warsaw, since 1960 as associate professor. As a result of the events of March 1968 his career broke. In the Military Archive in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki materials presenting the inside story of the end of this historian’s career at the Military Political Academy survived. In 1971 he emigrated to Denmark and Wojciech Jaruzelski decided to demote him to the rank of private. In 1972–1982 he was a professor at Odense University, in 1982–1990 at the University of Copenhagen. He collaborated with the Polish emigration periodical „Zeszyty Historyczne”.
