Summary/Abstract: The crime of child trafficking is a crime committed on an increasing scale in most countries around the world. Poverty, domestic violence, addictions, lack of interest are just some of the factors determining this crime. Perpetrators through their actions aim to exploit the victim in prostitution, pornography, begging, forced labor, among others. The purpose of this article is to show the scale of the phenomenon of child trafficking in Poland. The author used statistics that fully illustrate the size of this practice. In addition, the study was enriched by an analysis of illegal adoption against the background of child trafficking. The inclusion of the item in this article is not accidental. It is caused by the deepening problem of commercial adoption in Poland. The problem in question is increasingly publicized by the media, which prompts us to think about the phenomenon. In view of the above, the study poses the following question: is commercial adoption a violation of the law in Poland? The basic conclusions arising from the analysis of statistical data are that child trafficking in the territory of Poland is a phenomenon committed on a small scale. As for commercial adoption, on the other hand, it is considered to be a violation of the law only if it involves intermediation in the procedure in question.
