Summary/Abstract: This article discusses selected aspects of the functioning of humorous channels in social media. Research material comes from posts published on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by Zakład Pogrzebowy A.S. Bytom, a fictitious funeral parlour. A common trait between the author of the ludically-oriented social media profiles and their users is fondness for a specific type of jokes, including black humour. Other important aspects are the promotion of particular notions, a consistent outlook on the world and building and maintaining (mini)-communities of laughter by posting content that can be read, watched, commented on and/or shared with others.
