Summary/Abstract: The judicial application of the law is based on the person of the judge. However, we describe the person of the judge through the lens of secular law. Meanwhile, canon law also refers to processes. The most common process in the practice of ecclesiastical courts is the process for the nullity of marriage. So who is an ecclesiastical judge? Who can hold this office? The article answers these questions by setting the time frame from 1917, i.e. from the publication of the first Code of Canon Law in the Church, to the present day legislation. The research carried out shows the dynamics of change in this area.
