Summary/Abstract: The constant recourse to the concept in Andrei Pleșu's pages is illustrated by a stylistic gesticulation of undeniable expressiveness, by the fervour of the associations, the subtlety of the analyses, the verve of the phrasing, all associated with a certain austerity of the architecture of the whole textual edifice. Andrei Pleșu's books are, in fact, the expression of an art of writing and living, testifying to an aesthetic and existential creed. They are filigree sketches of a self-portrait made up of summed-up lines and delicately suggestive strokes.
