Summary/Abstract: The attention in this paper is paid to the practice of drinking from the big rakija glass among the Serbs in Ibarski Kolašin, an area in the northwest of Kosovo and Metohija. This practice is considered as an aspect of culture which Serbs in Ibarski Kolašin perceive as an element of their tradition, while the emphasis in the paper is on the research of the patterns of this practice, the roles and relationships between its actors. Starting from the point of view that through the use of alcohol, as a social activity, various social phenomena are reflected, the attention of the paper is focused on the analysis of drinking from the big rakija glass as a practice composed of elements that establish ”boundaries“ between men and women, i. e. which, in other words, serve as a means of shaping gender identities. The methodological procedure applied in achieving the set goal was based on the qualitative approach, primarily the conversation with interlocutors. The results presented in the paper were obtained on the basis of field research in Zubin Potok, the center of Ibarski Kolašin, conducted on several occasions during 2021 and 2022.
