Summary/Abstract: The content of this article is a historical and theological review of the vocal Orthodox church tradition, considered in the context of the Chełm region. Due to its historical conditions, this region wasopen to a number of external influences, which became an important distinguishing feature of the localsacred works. Without doubts, the most important role in its promotion and creation played Father E. Witoszyński.
